iCAR-ADR: Automatic detection of hazardous materials transported by heavy goods vehicles

iCAR-ADR is based on the proven technology of the licence plates automatic reading (ANPR) and can automatically detect and read the orange plaques that signal the type of hazardous materials transported by the heavy goods vehicles. The development teams of MACQ ELECTRONIQUE have just developed the iCAR-ADR.

The vehicles that transport hazardous materials on the European motorways must respect a certain number of rules. ADR is the European agreement for the international transport of hazardous materials by road (ADR). This agreement imposes among others the presence of a plaque with the danger codes, at the front as well as at the back.

The plaques are orange and measure 30 × 40 cm at least. They are divided by two widthways.

From a simple image or a video flux, iCAR-ADR is able to extract the codification of the hazardous materials transported by a heavy goods vehicle

iCAR-ADR is used to check the hazardous materials present on a road section, in a tunnel, etc. It can also be used for curbing but also for statistics.

The software can also perfectly be installed in your application programs relating to security.

iCAR enables the simultaneous detection and reading of licence plates and plaques about hazardous matierials.

iCAR-ADR is available in several versions :

  • iCAR-ADR : Linux or Windows library; is installed on the platform of your own choosing in order to interface with your application.

  • iCAR-CAM-ADR : integrated camera that enables to capture, night and day, the plaques that show the hazardous materials transported.

  • iCAR-CAM-ADR-ANPR : integrated camera that enables to capture, night and day, the plaques that show the hazardous materials transported but also the licence plates.
